MUMBAI: The legendary singer Asha Bhosale has turned 88. Her iconic tracks and stellar vocals still remain relevant to everyone. But, once upon a time, the legendary singer was upset after the remarks made by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
The Spotboye shared an incident based on one of the eyewitnesses. The incident occurred only a few days after Rahul Dev Burman's death. Actor Vidhu Vinod Chopra who was then planning his most ambitious film 1942: A Love Story, at the time visited Asha Bhosle’s residence.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra arrived at Ashaji's home. She came out to greet them as she perceived it to be a courtesy visit. Vinod, on the other hand, had a request for Ashaji.
He requested Ashaji's cooperation to get her sister Lataji to sing a song for 1942: A Love Story. Vinod's intentions were misunderstood by Ashaji.
Ashaji replied saying that ‘Nahin ab to woh rahe nahin. Unke bina main unka gaana nahin gaa sakti (Burman is not here anymore. How can I sing his song in his absence?).”
Instead of abandoning the situation, Vidhu Vinod Chopra straightened up the misunderstanding. “Nahin Nahin Aashaji, Aapko nahin gana hai Didi ko gana hai Didi ko gana hai Didi ko gana hai Didi ko gana hai Didi ko gana hai Didi.
