OMG: Kiara Advani opens up about her struggling days and how things changed after the success of Kabir Singh

MUMBAI: During one of Kiara Advani’s interviews, the actress was asked about her struggling days and if she noticed that things actually changed for her after the success of Kabir Singh. Kiara says that there have been times when ‘I have had auditions and not got the role. I have known about the auditions through word of mouth. That time I didn’t have a corporate agency or that sort of thing. So it was all like so and so the film is having auditions, go for the auditions. And it's not working out. And honestly, it doesn’t work like this.’

She added, ‘It's not like my sibling wakes up in the morning and says he wants to be an actor. And I called the producer and say my brother wants to be an actor. He may meet the person. Any actor who is here is because you suited that character, at the end of the day it’s a business also. So firstly you have to be able to act, and then, of course, you should suit that character for which you have been cast. It is not easy even if you know someone from the industry. It doesn’t work like that. I hate asking for favors. There is nothing wrong with asking for work, it is very normal but it will only take you to the point of interview or meeting with the producer. But getting the part doesn’t work like that.’

Then she was asked about how things changed after the success of Kabir Singh. The actress said, ‘I did notice things had changed. After the first film didn’t work, I felt like I needed to learn about how not to take success seriously just like you don’t like to take failure. The same situation which I might have experienced in Fugly is not like it cannot come back. And it is not like I cannot bounce back from that as well. So I think my first film was a lot of learning. It strengthened me to handle everything which then started coming my way in my career. I saw a huge difference between the media, from the people in the industry, it's not like they didn’t respect me earlier but suddenly there is an aura that changed everything. I might have experienced this at the peak after Kabir Singh but then my equation with the fraternity and media always remained the same.’
