Darbhanga originally from Bihar Durgesh Kumar recently spoke candidly with the popular news portal about the many challenges involved in pursuing a career in acting. He highlighted, “You need to be prepared psychologically, physically, mentally, emotionally, and economically to be an actor. I have suffered depression twice in 11 years. Unless you are not psychologically, economically and mentally healthy, please don’t come in the acting field. I am being brutally honest about it.”

Sharing more insights, Durgesh highlighted the demanding nature of the film industry for newcomers. He candidly described, “This is no place to try. This place is filled with crazy people. All the successful people you see today, including Manoj Bajpayee and Pankaj Tripathi, who were my seniors at the National School of Drama or even Nawazuddin Siddiqui, they are all half-crazy people, nobody discloses this.”

For those who don't know, 'Panchayat,' an Amazon Prime series, debuted Durgesh Kumar's character in its second season. Throughout the series, he is known as Banrakas and plays Bhushan, an aspirational figure who constantly runs in disfavor of Raghubir Yadav, the current pradhan.

Durgesh made his screen debut in 'Highway,' directed by Imtiaz Ali. Despite his appearances in films like Sultan, Freaky Ali, Dhadak, Janpath Kiss, and others, it was Panchayat who elevated him to a prominent position. He recently starred in the movies Bhakkshak and Laapataa Ladies. Notable actors from 'Panchayat' include Ashok Pathak, Chandan Roy, Faisal Malik, and Raghubir Yadav.
