MUMBAI: After the massive success of Kabir Singh, die-hard fans of Shahid are waiting for him to announce his next film. And the cat is finally out of the bag as Shahid will next be seen in the Hindi remake of Telugu film Jersey. Yes, you heard it right!
Shahid has already started prepping up for the film where he will be seen as a cricketer. The actor has started his cricket training on the turf.
A few days back, the actor had posted a video on his Instagram handle wherein he was seen playing cricket and as soon as he hit the ball out of the park, fans were super elated and took to social media to shower their love and express a sense of eagerness to watch him as a cricketer on screen.
We all know popular TV actor Mrunal Thakur will be playing Sasha's love interest in the film. It is also being reported that daddy Pankaj Kapoor will reunite with son Shahid for this film. He will be playing Shahid's mentor in the movie.
The veteran actor said, 'Jersey is a strong story driven by emotions. Working with Shahid has always been interesting. I admire his ability to portray emotions beautifully.'
Before this, Shahid and Pankaj have worked together in Mausam and Shandaar.
Jersey is directed by Gowthan Tinnanuri and the film is expected to release in August 2020.
