After a private visit to Indonesia two years ago, Pooja Bhatt, who was so charmed by the beauty, traditional heritage and cultural richness of the country, had expressed her desire to shoot a major part of her upcoming film Cabaret in the country.
Accordingly, at a meeting, organised by Mahesh Saharia, Honorary Consul of Indonesia at Kolkata, the Ambassador of Indonesia H.E. Rizali Wilmar Indrakesuma welcomed the initiative and assured to take up the matter with all related ministries in Indonesia to facilitate the filming in Indonesia with any kind of complication.
The meeting was attended by Ms Hendra Henny Andries, Minister Counsellor, Ms Rospinda Saragih, Counsellor, Mr Budi Santosa, Trade Attahce besides the Ambassador himself. Bhatt was accompanied by her colleague Ms Tanvi Modi.
“The Embassy of Indonesia greatly appreciates the keen desire of Ms Pooja Bhatt to shoot her film in Indonesia and while assuring her of all cooperation, hopes that such a film will make Indonesian destinations and locations more popular in India and bring more tourists from India,” read a statement issued by the embassy after the meet.
After Bhatt agreed to the suggestion of the Ambassador, VisitIndonesia director Sanjay Sondhi got into action and has assured to look into the possibilities of including the same within the limitations of the script.
VisitIndonesia will facilitate the visit.
