It is said that education is the most powerful weapon which one can use to change the world!
So by keeping this thought in mind and to mark the 50th year of International Literacy Day, one of the popular actresses of Bengal, Subhashree Ganguly, along with Mr Avinash Agarwalla, Director, BMA Steel Ltd, the makers of Captain TMT Bar donated Rs one lakh for the welfare of the students of the NGO run institute Joyjeet Das Memorial School.
The event was organised yesterday as 8 September is celebrated as the International Literacy Day.
The beautiful actress, who was seen in Bengali flicks like Challenge, Poran Jaye Joliya Re and Khokababu, also spent some quality time with the children of the School and also handed School Kits to them.
Commenting on her contribution, Subhashree said, “It is indeed heartening to see the people behind Joyjeet Das Memorial School working so hard to provide education to the needy children. I was touched by their initiative and decided to contribute towards the welfare of the children of this institute.”
“I am thankful to Mr Avinash Agarwalla of Captain TMT for happily agreeing to come forward and celebrate International Literacy Day with these children,” added the actress.
