Post Taapsee Pannu, Neha Dhupia, Renuka Shahane, Pulkit Samrat raise concern over steep electricity bills

Actors Taapsee Pannu, Neha Dhupia, Renuka Shahane, Pulkit Samrat and many others took to social media to raise concern over steep electricity bills.

MUMBAI : Earlier, Taapsee Pannu had taken to social media to express her disappointment over Mumbai’s electricity board after seeing an insane rise in her electricity bill amount. But seems like it wasn’t just Taapsee, other celebs like Neha Dhupia, Renuka Shahane, Dino Morea, Vir Das, Pulkit Samrat, and many others are shocked to see the huge jump and are asking the electricity board for clarification. In their Tweets, Hum Aapke Hain Koun actress stated that she received a bill of Rs 29,700, while Pulkit said his bill is Rs 30,000.

Renuka Shahane shared the bill on social media and wrote, “Dear @Adani_Elec_Mum I got a bill of Rs5510/= on the 9th of May while in June I got a bill of Rs 29,700 combining May & June where you've charged me Rs 18080 for the month of May. How did Rs.5510/= become Rs.18080/=?”

Re-Tweeting Taapsee Pannu’s Tweet, Saumya Tandon wrote, “My bill was 28000/- up from average of 8000/-  @Adani_Elec_Mum. It seems they have added a lockdown surcharge.” While Pulkit Samrat wrote, “My bill’s 30,000/- too!!!!!!! Kya mazaak hai!!?!”

Asking his followers if they too have received an insane amount, Vir Das tweeted, “Anyone else in Mumbai get an electricity bill that is triple what they usually pay?” While Dino More re-tweeted and wrote, “I was just going to tweet about it. Literally got a shock, pun intended. There was no surge in electricity, just the bill @Adani_Elec_Mum,” Neha Dhupia said they have been sent the fake bills.
