MUMBAI : Renowned actress Priya Bakshi is all set to captivate audiences with her powerful performance in the upcoming movie "Jahangir National University." Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vinay Sharma, the film promises to be a gripping portrayal of student politics and ideological clashes in one of India's most prestigious universities.

In "Jahangir National University," Priya Bakshi takes on the challenging role of Prajita D Raja, the daughter of a CPI leader. Prajita is the president of the JNU unit of the All India Students Federation (AISF). The character is inspired by real events, including a controversial incident in 2016 where the Delhi Police alleged her involvement in an event on the JNU campus that featured the chanting of "anti-national" slogans.

Priya Bakshi, known for her versatility and depth in portraying complex characters, shared her excitement about the role and the film. "Playing Prajita D Raja has been an incredibly intense and rewarding experience," Priya said. "The character is multi-dimensional, and portraying her allowed me to explore a range of emotions and political ideologies. I believe this film will spark important conversations about nationalism, freedom of speech, and the role of student activism in our society."

She added, "This film is not just about a university or its students; it's a reflection of our times and the ongoing debates about national identity and dissent. I hope my performance brings Prajita's character to life in a way that will leave a lasting impact on viewers."

With its compelling storyline and stellar performances, "Jahangir National University" is poised to be a significant film in contemporary Indian cinema.
