MUMBAI: It seems the first few months of 2019 are going to be super successful for Bollywood. After Uri: The Surgical Strike and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Gully Boy is creating History at the box office.
Gully Boy is Zoya Akhtar’s directorial venture starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. Co-produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar under the banners of Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment productions, the film is loosely based on the lives of Divine and Naezy.
The film, which has opened at the International Berlin Film Festival to positive reviews from international media, has already crossed Rs 50 crore in India in just three days, and trade analysts have pegged Gully Boy to make at least Rs 90 crore by the end of its first week.
Now the latest report is producers of South Indian films are keen to remake the film for their audiences. Producer Allu Arvind, according to media reports, wants to remake Gully Boy in Telugu, and he is considering Sai Dharam Tej to essay Ranveer Singh's role, though an official announcement is yet to be made on this.
