MUMBAI : Nitesh Tiwari's magnum opus, Ramayan filming has finally begun. Yash portrays the demon king, Ravana, while Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram. According to reports, the KGF star has started preparing for a weight gain of approximately 15 kg to appear his best.
According to popular news portal reports, Yash will begin filming Ramayan only after finishing his next project, Toxic, for which he will be drastically changing his appearance. While he needs to seem larger to play Ravana in Ramayan, he will be featured in Toxic showing off his thin, muscular physique.
The actor, who will soon wrap up Toxic, has decided to start his prep for the intense transformation by gaining 15 kg for Ramayan. And it won't just end there, but post-Ramayan, Yash also has the third installment of his blockbuster KGF franchise in his kitty, for which he will again have to lose all the weight.
Additionally, a special set will be built to depict the Mithila region, which is where Ram and Sita's marriage took place, in the movie. Three sections of Ramayana will be released; the first will center on Lord Rama's childhood and marriage to Sita, and the third will conclude with Sita's kidnapping.
Sai Pallavi may accompany Ranbir in July; however, he will start filming the movie first. Arun Govil, who is reportedly playing King Dasharath in Ramayana, will begin filming his parts after the Lok Sabha elections.
Sai Pallavi will play Sita in the movie, while Sunny Deol is said to be playing Lord Hanuman. However, as of yet, the makers have not provided any formal confirmation of the developments. In addition to portraying Ravana, Yash has agreed to co-produce Ramayan following Madhu Mantena's withdrawal from the film. The details of the movie and the cast have been kept under wraps until Nitesh Tiwari makes an official announcement.
