Ranbir Kapoor to have four heroines for company in Kishore Kumar biopic

For quite some time, there were talks that UTV Motion Pictures and director Anurag Basu were hobnobbing with the idea of roping in Ranbir Kapoor to play a lead in his ambitious Kishore Kumar biopic. The latest on this is that Ranbir has been signed for the film. The hunt is now on for four heroines who would reprise the roles of the legendary singer’s wives namely Ruma Guha Thakurota, Madhubala, Yogita Bali and Leena Chandavarkar. The heroines will be selected depending on which portions of the singer-actor’s life the director chooses to cover. If the film is made about the singer’s entire life, then there will be four stories as Kishore Kumar had four wives. Tentatively titled Kishore, the film is currently in its scripting stage. Said a source, “Anurag wants this project to be as close to reality as possible. As the script is still underway, a lot of details of the singer-musician-filmmaker need to be taken into consideration when writing the script as he was a legend.” The film, produced by UTV Motion Pictures, will go on the floors late next year or in early 2014.
