MUMBAI :Hindi Film superstar Amitabh Bachchan recently turned 81 years old. Yet he can give any new-comer a run for his money when it comes to his acting capabilities and charm. There’s no stopping this veteran who has a number of interesting films in his kitty this year. He was known as the angry young man of the 70s. His talent and star power is still unmatched even today.
Big B’s game show Kaun Banega Crorepati is one of the most loved and watched, and in its 15th season, the fan following has literally tripled. In one of the recent episodes, Big B revealed that he aspired to join the AirForce but he was rejected. When Jitendra Kumar from Ambala, Haryana, won the fastest finger first and reached the hot seat, he told the Brahmastra actor, “Sir, I wanted to join the Air Force. I attempted the CDS and NDA exams quite a few times. My NDA SSB interview took place in Allahabad, but I could not clear it. I did not pass the CDS exam after many attempts either and felt quite demotivated.”
He then went on to say that his friends told him that Big B too wanted to join the Air Force, he asked the veteran, “Did you attempt the CDS and NDA exams? To this Big B replied, “When I passed out from school. I didn't know what I should do. Right across from my house in Delhi - lived a Major General of the Army. I'd meet him often.” “He approached my father (Harivansh Rai Bachchan) one day, and told ‘I want this lad. I'll ensure he becomes an Army Officer.’ I thought I'd do that. I did attempt it, but it was futile.”
Amitabh Bachchan further said, “I wanted to join the Air Force too. We have so much in common. We both pursued BSc. We both aspired to join the Air Force. They rejected me on sight saying I had long legs.”
