Sadak 2 In Trouble; Complaint Filed Against Alia Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt And Mukesh Bhatt For Hurting Hindu Sentiments With Film Poster

The complainant has taken exception to the use of an image of Kailash Mansarovar in the poster of Alia Bhatt starrer Sadak 2

MUMBAI: It was recently announced that Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt starrer Sadak 2 will release on OTT platform - Disney+Hotstar. The film which is a sequel to the 1991 release Sadak has however attracted controversy ever since the announcement. After netizens demanding to boycott the film over nepotism debate, the latest report suggests that a case has been filed against the makers for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments through the poster.

As per The Indian Express, a complaint has been against Alia Bhatt, director Mahesh Bhatt and produced Mukesh Bhatt by complainant Acharya Chandra Kishore Parashar, a resident of Sikandarpur locality. In his complaint, the complainant has taken exception to the use of an image of Kailash Mansarovar in the poster.

The complaint has been lodged under IPC sections 295A (deliberately outraging religious feelings) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) and a hearing of the same is scheduled on July 8. The poster of the film was released with the announcement and it has snow clad mountains as the backdrop

Meanwhile, netizens also do not seem to be in much favour of Sadak 2. Late Sushant Singh Rajput's brother-in-law has created a Nepometer and as per its rating, Sadak 2 is 98 percent nepotistic. 

A tweet shared by the official handle of Nepometer read, "Now, the Twitter account of Nepometer rated Sadak 2 as 98 percent nepotistic. The conclusion was drawn based on 5 categories- producer, lead cast, supporting cast, director and writer. The tweet reads, “#Sadak2 is 98% Nepotistic. We rated it based on 5 categories, Producer, Lead Artists, Supporting Artists, Director & Writer. 4 out of 5 categories have Bollywood Family members. When #nepometer is high it’s time to #boycottbollywood Will you watch this movie? Tell us in comments.”
