MUMBAI: A lot has conspired in the year 2020, and it has turned out to be one of the most turbulent years for everyone. Not to mention the problems faced across the globe. While the world continues to go through the unprecedented turmoil, legendary actor Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Banu have decided that they will not be celebrating their wedding anniversary this year.

The veteran actress took to her Twitter handle and released an official statement about the same and revealed why they won’t be celebrating their wedding anniversary. 

Saira Banu’s message read, “Oct. 11, is always the most beautiful day in my life. Dilip Saheb married me on this day and made my cherished dreams come true.

This year, we are not celebrating. You all know we lost two of our brothers, Ahsan Bhai and Aslam Bhai ...1/n”

“The unprecedented turmoil due to the Covid-19 pandemic has taken many lives and caused sorrow in many many families. In the current circumstances, we request all of you, our dear friends, to pray for each other's safety and well being. May God be with us all. Stay Safe. 2/2,” she added.

Recently, Dilip Kumar lost his brothers Ehsaan Khan and Aslam Khan due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, amid the troublesome year, the couple breathed a sigh of relief with the good news about their ancesteral home.

Legendary actor Raj Kapoor And Dilip Kumar's ancestral houses are reportedly being purchased by the provincial government in Pakistan's Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The recent reports suggest that they will conserve the historic buildings, which are currently in dilapidated condition and face the threat of demolition.
