Salman hugging SRK at Iftaar party…end of rivalry or mere public politeness?

ShahRukh Khan andSalman Khan
So much has been already written and spoken on the Khans hugging each other that we wonder what else remains to mention. Pictures flashed all over news channels and social networking platforms showing two Bollywood giants, Shah Rukh ‘Badshah’ Khan and Salman “Dabangg” Khan meeting, greeting, hugging at an Iftaar party thrown by politician Baba Siddique. Since then, speculations were rife whether peace has finally found a place between the two friends-turned-foes. We all know that Salman and SRK once were best of friends, always batting and patting each other’s backs. They even worked together in films like Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam. However, things turned ugly a few years ago during Katrina Kaif’s birthday party where the two threw nasty verbal punches at each other before storming out of the venue. Said a source: “Many believe that Salman that night teased SRK for his bad TRPs of his then anchored show, Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Ho. Shah Rukh in return passed remarks on Salman pertaining to his failed relationship with Aishwarya (Rai Bachchan). They had a fall out and later Shah Rukh’s wife Gauri dragged him out of the party. An infuriated Salman heckled past nosy reporters.” Aha…blast from the past… In a twist, Shah Rukh later apologized to Salman during an interview with Karan Johar in Koffee With Karan. In return, Salman said to a reporter that if SRK wants to apologise, then he should come home and not talk about it on camera. Since then, lot of reports has been flashed on the two Khans not being able to see eye-to-eye. But all seemed to get sorted yesterday with finally, burying all differences, the two Khans greeting each other (at least the pictures showed so). So has the rivalry really come to an end or was it just a case of public politeness? Says an industry insider: “People have created a lot of noise about the meeting but I think it was nothing but a goodwill gesture on a pious occasion. But if really all ends, it will be good for the fans and the industry.” Well, we just hope that the Bollywood biggies move on and come together in a film, an ultimate gift for their millions of fans!!!
