Salman Khan is the new king in Forbes' 2014 Celebrity 100 list, SRK is No. 3

King Khan may be the 2nd richest actor in the world but prestigious business magazine Forbes certainly thinks Salman Khan is the star who is eligible enough to occupy the Numero Uno spot in their Celebrity 100 list of 2014. The macho superstar and his super success this season has given him a march ahead of other power brokers in the list including SRK who now occupies the number three spot in the power list. The anomaly is the result of SRK’s limited onscreen appearance this year as compared to Salman. While SRK had only one release, Happy New Year this year, Salman had two – Jai Ho and Kick both of which crossed 100 crore at the box-office. Salman also made his presence felt on television through advertisements and controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 8 which he is currently hosting. SRK, on the other hand, was busy working on Happy New Year which essentially limited his other television appearances as compared to Salman. Not to forget Salman’s legal cases that kept him perennially visibility in media, both print and electronic thereby granting him much visibility compared to SRK. At number two spot is Amitabh Bachchan while at number four and five positions are cricketer M.S. Dhoni and actor Akshay Kumar respectively. The list has been complied on factors ranging from wealth earned, fame achieved and visibility of the celebrity in print, television and internet. The list also gives out the estimated earnings of all these powerful men. Salman tops the list with 244.50 crore while Amitabh at second garnered 196.75 crore. SRK is at 202.40 crore while Dhoni and Akshay amassed 141 and 172 crores respectively. The women celebrity power list has a lone female presence from Bollywood in the form of Deepika Padukone. With multiple endorsement deals, Happy New Year and Finding Fanny, the actress has earned an approximate sum of 67.20 crore and occupies the eighth spot in the women’s power list.
