Sequel to Andaz Apna Apna announced

This is some good news for the fans of Andaz Apna Apna who have been frantically waiting for its sequel ever since it released 19 years ago in 1994. The sequel has finally been announced. Now, to set the ball roiling, producer Vinay Kumar Sinha approached Rajkumar Santoshi (the director of the original) to helm the project. Santoshi, who has agreed to do the project, is likely to begin with the pre-production as soon as he finishes the Shahid Kapoor, Ileana D'Cruz starrer Phata Poster Nikla Hero. Reasoning as to why he chose to make a sequel to the film after 19 years, Vinay Kumar said, "People have been asking me to do a sequel ever since the film became a hit. Then, I was not too sure, if the Indian audience was ready for a second part. But, now the time is ripe. Remakes and sequels are in vogue." Although the cast of the sequel of Andaz Apna Apna is yet to be finalised, efforts to get part of the original cast on board is taking place. "We will sound both Aamir and Salman; it would be great if that works out. If not, we'll sign up some other actors." Sinha has also roped in Ram Mirchandani who co-produced Vicky Donor to head the production unit of the film.
