Having made his directorial debut in 2002 with Saathiya for Yash Raj Films (YRF), Shaad Ali has been roped in by the production house to direct their next project Kill Dil that will star Ranveer Singh, Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles.
Shaad’s second film was <em>Bunty Aur Babli</em> made in 2005, brought together real-life father and son Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan alongside Rani Mukerji. The film turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the year.

Shaad Ali's third film Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was made in 2007. It starred Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Bobby Deol and Lara Dutta.
Produced by Aditya Chopra, Kill Dil, Shaad’s fourth film for YRF, is slated for a 2014 release.
