Shahid Kapoor’s prolonged period of failure has ended. After seven flops and one semi-hit the beleaguered actor who in his own words was desperate for a hit, has got his wish. In spite of savagely critical reviews in Mumbai R…Rajkumar is an unexpected success. Over the weekend the film has grossed approximately Rs 38 crore. Shahid, we are told, is in a celebratory mode. “He will throw a grand party for all his friends and colleagues very shortly within the next two weeks,” says a friend of the actor. However it is the other heartening news that has put a smile back into Shahid’s life. The star and the star-director Shahid and Prabhu Dheva have decided to join hands again for another film that will be helmed in 2014. Says a source, “The decision to work together again was actually taken even before R…Rajkumar released. At a trial show both Sonakshi and Shahid got very excited. Shahid was heard ribbing Prabhu Dheva about how he worked over and over again with Sonakshi. But he never repeated his heroes. The two decided to come together again for a project.” Confirming this development Prabhu Dheva said, “Yes, Shahid and I working together again. We’ll lock in the dates as soon as I finalize the script. Right now I can only tell you that it would be an action film with lots of stunts drama and comedy. In other words, the film that audiences want from me.” The self-confessed workaholic director says he likes to bring his heroes out of their comfort zone. “Shahid was seen as a soft romantic hero before R…Rajkumar. We decided to give him a new image and make him do the things that didn’t come naturally to him. I made him dance and fight. Shahid is known to be a terrific dancer. But no one had seen him as a fighter. And now in Action Jackson I am doing the opposite of what I did with Shahid in R…Rajkumar. Everyone has seen Ajay Devgn as a fighter.
