MUMBAI: Actress Divya Dutta debuted in the film industry in 1994 with Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein Marna. She has since acted in films including Delhi-6, Veer-Zaara, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and Welcome To Sajjanpur. The latest film directed by Tahira Kashyap that featured Divya was Sharmajee Ki Beti.
Recently, Divya talked about how she got started in the Hindi film industry and why she decided to do films.

In a recent interview, Divya Dutta discussed her part in the 1998 movie Train to Pakistan with the widely read news outlet. Regarding her role in the film, Divya admitted that she wasn't sure. The actress thought she would get the opportunity to dress in chiffon sarees in Bollywood.
"I had come into films thinking I would wear chiffon sarees and dance on rain songs. I did not know if I should do the role," Divya said.
Train To Pakistan, the 1998 film, was based on Khushwant Singh's 1956 classic novel of the same name. Directed by Pamela Rooks, the movie was set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition of India.
Divya Dutta, who has worked with ace filmmakers like Yash Chopra and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, added, "The universe has its ways of giving you what you want. You will get what you want, but the ways can be different."
Divya Dutta discusses how she selects her own movie roles, stating that she always follows her intuition. The Veer-Zaara actress went on to say that she instantly declines roles if she doesn't like them and vice versa.
The actress responded, "And if I think yes, it's a yes," adding that she would like to be a part of a journey for the filmmaker or the character in the role that she finds appealing.
Divya Dutta's most recent movie Sharmajee Ki Beti was released on June 28. Saiyami Kher, Sakshi Tanwar, Sharib Hashmi, and Parvin Dabas are also featured. The film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Her other well-known pieces are Lootera, Special 26, Badlapur, Aaja Nachle, Stanley Ka Dabba, Heroine, and Manto.
