Shocking! Gadar 2: Utkarsh Sharma responds to Ameesha Patel's recent remarks; Says ‘I have no idea’

A portion of people are criticizing Utkarsh since no one else has yet cast him in films despite the fact that he has already appeared in two films, both of which were directed by his father. In response to such conversations, he suggested in a recent interview that people need to have a "broader perspective."

MUMBAI: Gadar 2, directed by Anil Sharma, just shattered astronomical box office records. Tara and Sakina were played again by Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the movie. Their adult son Charanjeet, played by Utkarsh Sharma, was also featured in the movie. The young man is also Anil Sharma's son, who made his significant Bollywood debut in the same year with Genius, also directed by his father.

A portion of people are criticizing Utkarsh since no one else has yet cast him in films despite the fact that he has already appeared in two films, both of which were directed by his father. In response to such conversations, he suggested in a recent interview that people need to have a "broader perspective."

Although both of Utkarsh Sharma's films received positive reviews, there has recently been much chatter about him not receiving work beyond that of his father. The actor responded by saying that this required people to view the situation from a "broader perspective."

He explained, “Even if your father is directing you, ultimately baat aati hai paise lagaane par. (Ultimately it all comes down to investment). You may know five thousand people in this industry (because of your father), but if they are taking the risk and investing their money on you, it is not because you are the son of so-and-so person, but because they see something in you, which they believe will be profitable for them also.”

He continued by saying that the investors in the movie had a nice return on OTT when he was introduced by his father. He demonstrated that his father was not the producer by employing the movie Gadar 2 as an example. Therefore, there were investors and performers prepared to collaborate with me.

The actor also addressed Ameesha Patel's statement from an earlier interview, in which she said, “I feel bad for Anil ji since he tried to push his son Utkarsh a lot in Gadar 2, but eventually, Tara and Sakina stole the limelight”.

He further added, “I don’t know why she would say such a thing. I have no idea because I am having no problems, and I am getting plenty of projects. As far as the limelight is concerned, I don’t know what kind of actors look for the limelight. Even if you have one scene in the film, you can leave an impact and all the actors of Gadar 2 are getting their accolades and share of work. Maybe she is being misquoted. I hope it was not her saying this (laughs).”

Utkarsh related his experience of going through his own set of hardships as the first member of his family. He said, “who has chosen acting, I am working hard to get the right opportunities”. He has also stated that he is receiving offers for both the big screen and OTT, but he is adamant about staying with the former.

He stated, “My focus has always been films and I came to this industry to be part of the films. Even during the lockdown, I was getting offers from OTT, but I was very determined that cinema was the magic I came for. OTT has its own brilliance, but cinema has its magic. So I may not do an OTT project anytime soon. Even if I am getting more money for an OTT project, I would go for a film.”
