Shocking! This is why Income Tax Department surveyed Sonu Sood’s house

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood was well known for his contribution during the lockdown. The actor was constantly making headlines due to his philanthropic activities. But this time the actor is creating a buzz after Income Tax officials arrived at the actor's home.

It was earlier reported that officials from the Income Tax department had surveyed the actor’s Mumbai offices and homes in the suburbs.

As per dnaindia, the Income Tax Department received a complaint of  tax evasion. Therefore, the officials were investigating a land purchase between a firm owned by Sonu Sood and a Lucknow-based real estate company. The I-T survey at Sonu Sood's premises began in the morning and lasted until at least 7 p.m.

After the IT survey, several fans and ministers came to the actor’s support.

AAP leader and MLA Raghav Chadha even tweeted, "This is nothing but a witch hunt by an insecure government against a giant philanthropist considered a 'messiah' by millions. His only crime is that he worked for the welfare of the downtrodden when they were orphaned by the state.”
