MUMBAI: Coronavirus pandemic has been hard on many. Starting from celebrities to commoners, many have tried to end their lives. Now, the latest report has it that on Saturday, a singer based out of Nagpur slit his wrist in an attempt to suicide. Shockingly he also live-streamed it on his Facebook page. According to the police, he was facing financial woes due to the coronavirus pandemic which led him to take this drastic step. The singer was immediately saved by his family and friends who watched the video he uploaded. He was later on taken to the hospital where he was treated and saved.
According to reports, an official said that while the 35-year-old man was attempting suicide, his wife and children were crying for help. Several of his friends who saw the live stream reached his house in the Pardi area here and took him to a nearby hospital. His condition is currently critical.
A colleague of the singer also claimed that he was among a group of people who had met authorities demanding help for artistes affected by the lockdown.
This is not the first time, people have been hearing suicide attempts and deaths during the coronavirus lockdown. Several common people and celebs allegedly died by suicide during the pandemic. A few weeks back, Kesari actor Sandeep Nahar also posted a suicide note on his Facebook page before hanging himself to death at his home in Mumbai.
