Talking to Hindustan Times, Sonu spoke at length about this. When asked how fair it is to blame a certain section of people for Sushant Singh Rajput's demise, Sonu said, "Not right to blame one section of people. It is very difficult for those individuals also to hear someone blame you for someone's death." He shared that getting blamed for someone's death is the biggest thing that one can experience in their life and can't come out of it. Sonu Sood further expressed that Sushant's death was very tragic.

In the same interview, Sonu also asserted that people will talk about Sushant's death and nepotism for a few days and move on. Then there will be another outsider, a new subject trying his luck to make it big in the industry.
