MUMBAI : Stree 2 is off to a record-breaking start and has lit up the box office. The narrative of the previous film is continued in the horror comedy starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, which also introduces Sarkata Bhoot as a new antagonist. The residents of Chanderi are forced to turn to Stree for assistance as Sarkata wreaks havoc and kidnaps women. Did you know that Sarkata is based on a true legend, even as he continues to frighten the audience? Everything you need to know about Sarkata Bhoot's folklore is provided here.
THe Sarkata bhoot is a legend in Uttarakhand, especially in the town in Lansdowne. In the picturesque hilltop town, the story of the headless ghost has been passed down from generation to generation. Sarkata Bhoot is said to be the ghost of WH Wardell, a British soldier who lived in the village more than a century ago. Prior to being sent to India in 1983 and appointed the Commanding Officer of Lansdowne Cantt, Wardell was stationed in Burma (Myanmar). Before going back to India, he served in the British army's campaign in South Africa. Wardell was stationed in Lansdowne for the first stages of the First World War. He was forced to flee the nation to fight for Britain, though, and lost his life in a combat in France against Germany.
Folklore states that his body was never located when he passed away. Since Wardell was stationed in Lansdowne before to his death, the inhabitants think that his ghost still wanders the town. Sarkata Bhoot is portrayed as a villain in Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2, but the residents of Lansdowne view him as a kind spirit that watches over the town.
There is a legend that the headless ghost rides around the cantonment area on his horse, striking soldiers and guards who are discovered napping or going without a car while on duty. The ghost, according to the townspeople, is also the cause of the area's low crime rates. This is extremely fascinating trivia, and it would be intriguing to see if the filmmakers of the Stree 2 film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, will include another folklore-inspired story in the film's third episode.
