MUMBAI: Maddock Horror Comedy Universe started with the release of Stree featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee Aparshakti Khurana and some more. The movie was directed by Dinesh Vijan and released in 2018.
The movie introduced the audience to the genre of horror comedy in the best way and garnered a huge amount of love from the audience. The movie also became favorite for many meme-creators online and thanks to this, there was a huge buzz for the movie even after its release.
Soon there came some more movies like Bhediya starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, Roohi starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor and recently released Munjya starring Abhay Verma, Sharvari and Mona Singh. Munjya being the recent release from the MHCU it gave us a good hints for both Bhediya and Stree 2.
After the makers dropped the teaser of Stree 2, the audience went crazy as they got to watch Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor and also got a small glimpse of Tamannaah Bhatia. Today the makers finally dropped the trailer of the movie and it looks like everything that the audience were waiting for and a little more.
Today at the trailer launch event, when Rajkummar Rao was asked what changed the game for him, he gave an interesting reply to it.
Rajkummar Rao said, “I remember we were thinking about Stree and Dinu saw Bareily Ki Barfi and he’s like ‘Arey Raj toh comedy bhi karta hai’ because before that I was mostly doing dramas. So Bareily put me in that different avatar where people saw me doing something different from what I was doing earlier but Stree definitely put me right on top there because it was a big blockbuster. It was a first for most of us sitting here but I’m forever grateful to Stree and not only this Stree, I think main yeh bohot bolta hoon, bohot filmy dialogue hai but Shahrukh sir ka dialogue hai ‘Har mard ki zindagi me 3 streeyo ka haath hota hai’, toh meri zindagi mein bhi hai Stree, Meri maa Stree, aur meri Patralekha Stree aur Durga Maa stree.”
Well, seems like Stree 2 is really going to be big and we are all excited for it.
