MUMBAI: Actor Sudipto Balav has worked in many noticeable projects across industries, however, one that remains closest to his heart is his film Baghban. The actor says that he has memories from the shoot. “Bagbhan is a rush of good memories. I was extremely fresh in Bombay when Bhagban happened to me. Like millions of other young Indian boys, I was excited to work with Amitabh Bachchan. He is an inspiration and this was a great opportunity for me to work with him,” he says.
The film was a great opportunity for Sudipto at that point in his career. “Baghban was my first Hindi feature film and at that time this seemed like the perfect gift from the universe. The banner was BR films. I mean, what more can you ask for when you get a chance to share screen space with your icon, Amitabh Bachchan and other legendary actors like Paresh Ji. It was a golden opportunity to learn,” he says.
The actor adds that he liked his role as well. “When you come to the character, I was noticed. Also, the makers were nice enough to say, ‘Introducing Sudipto Balav’. Everything I remember about Baghban is so good and positive and it will be in memory which I will cherish till the last day of my life,” he says.
Talking about working with Bachchan, Sudipto says, “Working with Mr. Bachchan, to be very honest, was incredible. The first two to three days, I used to pinch myself several times just to believe that I am really working with Mr. Bachchan, that we are on the same set. The interaction was more of fanboy moment than of interacting with your co-actor. He is a wonderful human being to work with, he is cooperative and he understands that he is working with a newcomer and tries to make you comfortable.”
