Speaking to Navbharat Times, Suicide Or Murder producer Vijay Shekhar said, “About 50 percent of the script of the film has been worked out and it will be finalized by mid-August. From September 16, we will shoot for 50 days in Mumbai and Punjab. This film is being made to break the myth of nepotism and Bollywood mafias spread in Bollywood.”

When asked if the film is based on Sushant Singh Rajput’s life, he said, “I am not trying to redeem his name at all. I am just trying to make an accident like Sushant not happen to anyone else. Before that happened to Jiah Khan or Divya Bharti. I met an actress who tried to commit suicide 11 times. If an outsider comes into our industry and is trying to commit suicide, there will be a reason. There is a mafia gang going on in our industry.”

The producer further added, “Sushant Singh Rajput is not the only one who has had such an accident in the Bollywood industry. The film will include a story of 9 to 10 people. This film will be about 3 hours. Those who are being questioned in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The characters inspired by them will be shown in the film.”

Earlier, Vijay Shekhar had revealed that this is not going to be a biopic. He added, “I have spoken to my legal team for this film, so that there is no restriction. We are not making it like a biopic, it will be inspired by the life of Sushant Singh Rajput.”
