MUMBAI : According to actor Suniel Shetty, his goal has always been to give his family a better life rather than build a fortune in business. The actor has been in the profession for more than 30 years, adding that, unlike what some may believe, he is not a "big businessman."

In an interview with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa for their podcast, the actor discussed his professional background and how a great deal of his decisions were driven by his emotions. However, he never "lost heart" despite the failure of his films. According to Suniel Shetty, he is lucky that "lakshmi" (wealth) has shown him kindness and provided him with opportunities to advance in life despite obstacles.

“There is a perception that I am a big businessman, which actually isn’t true. I do my bit and I live within my means. You will never see me driving four cars, I drive one and I will enjoy it for two years. If I want a house, I want that one, I won’t settle for anything ordinary. When I can afford it, I will do the best. You spend the most time in your house, so if the house doesn’t invite you, there is no point,” he said.

“People today say, ‘You must see Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse,’ I built it 16 years ago! Back then, its financial valuation was perhaps (nothing) but my idea was to grow up with my children, Athiya and Ahan, to spend time with them over the weekend, do farming, all the trees there are planted by us. What had rocks before, there are more than 400 trees there. The house was built for this. That it is valuable now is a different story,” he added.

The actor stated that he has no intention of selling either his Mumbai home or his farmhouse because he sees them as emotional rather than financial investments.

“I didn’t plan this, I will never even sell it so its value is zero from a price perspective. But from a personal perspective, it is priceless. Same for this house where I live, for the outside world it will have a price but not for me. I would never want to sell it. I always wanted to give to kids where they feel happy and you continue to do what you are meant to do. Never stop doing for people, you will only get more.”

The actor is scheduled to appear in two films: Hera Pheri 3, which is reportedly stuck in a legal mess and will go into production later, and Welcome to the Jungle 3, which stars Akshay Kumar.
