MUMBAI: The Special Investigation Team of CBI conducted a dummy test and recreated scenes at Sushant Singh Rajput's flat in Bandra, Mumbai on August 23. The test was conducted to find out if it is possible to hang oneself from the fan, or if someone else could have hanged him after his death or while he was unconscious. India Today found out the revelations of the dummy test which suggest that the CBI is now exploring the latter case.

The CBI sources say that the study of viscera and post-mortem report will confirm the possibility of the aforementioned angle.

Here are the revelations of the dummy test:

Sources say that the dummy test reveals that it is possible to hang oneself in the space between the bed and the fan's rod.

If Sushant hanged himself or someone else hanged him after death/in unconsciousness - will be ascertained after examining viscera report and post-mortem report by Dr Sudhir Gupta and his team.

There is no clarity in forensic report by the Mumbai Police on the time of death and a second opinion. The lack of clarity led to all these speculation.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his Mumbai home on June 14. Mumbai Police, who were initially investigating the case, declared it a suicide. However, On July 25, Sushant Singh Rajput's father KK Singh filed a complaint at Patna's Rajiv Nagar Police Station and an FIR was filed against Rhea Chakraborty and her family members. In his complaint, Singh alleged that Rhea and her family siphoned off Rs 15 crore from Sushant's bank account. A case of abetment to suicide was also filed against Rhea Chakraborty. Bihar Police began its investigation and reached Mumbai.

Rhea moved Supreme Court to transfer the case from Bihar Police to Mumbai Police. However, on August 5, the Centre told SC that they have accepted the Bihar government’s recommendation to transfer the case to CBI. The SC verdict came out on August 19, and the CBI was given full control of the investigation. A Special Investigation Team from the CBI is currently investigating the Sushant Singh Rajput death case in Mumbai.
