Filmmaker Rumi Jaffery whose film Sushant and Rhea Chakraborty were supposed to do reaches Bandra Police station to record his statement in connection to the actor’s suicide case

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput had sent shockwaves across the country and left fans, friends and family disheartened when the news of his death surfaced. After Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden and untimely demise, Mumbai Police is doing it’s very best to investigate the reason behind the actor’s suicide and what led to him taking such a drastic step. Now, as the police investigate the case further, Filmmaker Rumi Jaffery who shared a close bond with the late actor reaches Bandra police station to record his statement.

NDTV reported that filmmaker Rumi Jaffery reached Bandra Police Station this afternoon, to record his statement. After Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise, director Rumi Jaffery opened up about his upcoming project wherein he was supposed to cast the late actor. It was reported that Sushant was going to be cast in the film opposite actress girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. Speaking with Mumbai Mirror, in an interview, filmmaker Rumi Jaffery revealed that Sushant Singh Rajput was supposed to do a romantic-comedy film. He also mentioned that the script was locked and they were planning to begin filming in May, but everything got delayed due to the global pandemic.

Until now, the Mumbai police have recorded statements of over 30 people in connection to Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case. Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, Dil Bechara co-star Sanjana Sanghi and many others were summoned by the Mumbai police to record their statements.

Sushant Singh Rajput died due to suicide on June 14 at the young age of 34. The actor was found hanging in his Mumbai residence and no suicide note was found, as per reports. Apart from other things, the Mumbai police are also investigating if professional rivalry had anything to do with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
