MUMBAI: The SSR case is one of the most talked-about and controversial cases in the country, and with three agencies investigating it, there is still no lead.
It has been exactly a year since the actor passed away, but there hasn’t been any progress. People across the globe have been wondering why the CBI is quiet.
It was on 14 June 2020 that Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his apartment in mysterious circumstances, and since then, fans have been fighting for the actor and demanding justice.
The case is being investigated by three agencies, the CBI, NCB, and ED, and until now, there hasn’t be any lead.
Here we bring you the timeline of the case.
14 June 2020 : SSR was found hanging in his apartment in mysterious circumstances. Initially, the police called it a suicide, but the media and fans brought out another angle in the case, which suggested that it could be a murder.
Fans and media trial: After two months of the incident, the media picked up the case and were fighting for justice for SSR. Thry were sharing all the loopholes in the case and were carrying out campaigns on the actor’s name.
SSR family filing an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty: Rhea who was SSR’s girlfriend back then was accused by the family where in the FIR they mentioned that she was the cause of his death and that she had done all this for money and played with his mind and innocence.
The connection between Disha Salian and SSR cases: The media trial brought out the connection between Disha Salian and SSR. They couldn’t believe that this could be a coincidence. A week after his ex-manager passed away, SSR also passed away. They were a hundred percent sure that there is a connection between the two cases.
ED and NCB bringing in the drug angle: While the SSR case was being investigated, the ED found chats of Rhea, which busted the drug cartel case in Bollywood, thus leading the NCB to summon big stars like Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Arjun Rampal.
The Mumbai Police goof-up: There were many loopholes brought out by the media on the police investigating the case which threw a lot of questions. They tried to divert the case to Bollywood where directors like Mahesh Bhatt, Aditya Chopra, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali were some of the names that were called for interrogation by the Mumbai police to push the nepotism theory, but that was busted by the media trial and there was more to the case.
The CBI took over the case: Finally, after months of fighting for justice and demanding that the CBI take over the case, the High Court handed over the case to the CBI and ordered them to investigate the case and that became the biggest victory for fans and the family.
The arrest of Rhea Chakraborty: The NCB arrested Rhea and her brother Showik in the drug cartel case, and they were in jail for about a month and are currently out on bail.
The prime suspects in the case: SSR’s houses staff Samuel Miranda, Keshav, and Neeraj were also called for interrogation and were seen as prime suspects in the case as they were present in the house with the incident took place.
Fans are waiting for the CBI to come out and to tell people about the case and if there is a lead in the case.
