MUMBAI : Not only is Shah Rukh Khan a brilliant businessman but he has also been a renowned actor in Bollywood for more than thirty years. During a recent conversation, Taapsee Pannu, co-star of Shah Rukh Khan in Dunki, shared an unexpected anecdote and couldn't stop gushing about his "intelligence" and "charisma."
She disclosed that, despite her initial stance, SRK convinced her to accept the notion of paying others to say positive things about her. Taapsee had a change of heart when he advised her to consider them as "billboards." Taapsee explains it in a video that is going viral on Reddit.
Talking to the news agency during a podcast, Taapsee spoke about her Dunki co-star and said, “I was telling the other day how I don’t really believe in buying out people to talk good about me or write good stuff only. I remember talking about this to him and he was like ‘there are billboards, right? And you pay for the billboards for your ads, for your display, when you want to show it to the audience? So people, who want to be paid for saying good, for you, they should be treated like billboards, they should be used as marketing tools’.”
Taapsee revealed that Shah Rukh's explanation caused her to reconsider her stand. She once held the opinion that positive publicity should come from within and refused to pay others to say nice things about her. However, Shah Rukh's reasoning and interpreting them as billboards quickly changed her point of view, which she thought was impressive.
“For a person who never believed in buying people, I was like whatever publicity happens should be organic. I can’t pay people to say good about me. Then I started thinking that they are billboards. He actually changed my point of view so quickly with his logic and reasoning, which only an extremely smart man can do,” she said.
In Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu were featured.
