Ten facts you must know about Boss

Boss
Akshay Kumar’s The Boss is all set to hit theaters tomorrow. Now, here are some facts about the movie which need to know. 1. Akshay Kumar plays a good-hearted gangster. In his last release Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara he played a wicked gangster. Akshay’s grey/evil roles have always been rejected...e.g Abbas-Mustan’s Ajnabee, Neeraj Vora’s Khiladi 420. 2. After the success of the Lungi dance in Chennai Express Yo Yo Honey Singh was roped in to compose and sing in Party all night. The song is already in the midst of a controversy with the honourable courts ordering that the word which rhymes with kaan (as in ‘g...d’) be deleted. 3. Sonakshi Sinha makes a special appearance in the number with Akshay Kumar and Honey Singh. This is her second item song. The first was in Himmatwala earlier this year. Boss, kaan mein dum hai. 4. Akshay Kumar has no leading lady opposite him. Aditi Rao Hydari who claimed to be the film’s heroine is cast opposite Shiv Pundit who plays Akshay’s protégé. 5. Ronit Roy is cast as a villainous cop. Ronit’s new innings as a movie actor began with Vikramaditya Motwane’s Udaan where he played a sadistic alcoholic father. Brute force works well for Ronit. 6. The film is a remake of the 2010 Malayalam blockbuster Pokkiri Raja where the legendary Mammoothy played Akshay Kumar’s role. Prithviraj played Shiv Pundit’s role. This film’s makers secretly hope Boss would put Shiv Pundit in the same league as Sushant Simgh Rajput and Ayushmann Khurrana. 7. Aditi Rao Hydari who has been flaunting her bikini body hopes to abandon her goody goody image with this film. But it’s impossible to abandon the angelic image once you are saddled with it. Ask Neelam. 8. The film’s director Tony D’Souza made Blue one of the biggest flops of Akshay Kumar’s career. Akshay nonetheless encouraged Tony to take another shot at filmmaking. So here he is. 9. Tony’s not the only one Akshay has encouraged and supported for this project. Veteran journalist Ashwin Warde who has been a close friend of Akshay was bolstered by the star into turning producer with Boss. 10. The film was originally entitled Naam Hai Boss as the title ‘Boss’ was unavailable Akshay exercized his goodwill to get the desired title.
