In a one of its kind event, the team of Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami - Neha Dhupia, Divyendu Sharma, Aditi Sharma, Abhinav Shukla (Producer), Ravindra Gautam (Director) and Asheema Shukla (Co-producer) - felicitated the toppers from over 30 schools in Mumbai and their parents. The event called UDAAN, organized by a charitable body iGhatkoper, honours students that have scored over 90 percent marks in their exams.
Though full of fun, Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami is a film that showcases the effort of two sons to get their father the ultimate sign of respect - an Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami.
A perfect sync with the film, Udaan is an event where the parents were honoured.
Talking about their association with the with event this is what the team had to say:
Neha Dhupia: It is a rare event where parents are honoured for their children's achievements. I am thrilled to be a part of the event. Also, I am touched by the response received by our team from the students.
Aditi Sharma: It is amazing to be a part of the such an event. Our film is also all about honouring our parents. It is a father-son relationship - an emotion which you can clearly feel at this event.
Divyendu Sharma: I was not a very bright student. The maximum that I scored was 78 percent and never above that. But here we can see students scoring above 90 percent. I would say Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami to all of them!
Abhinav Shukla: I am very happy to be a part of this event which so much about the relationship between a child and parents. Our film is also about this relationship and we hope through our film we can express this emotion to a much larger audience.
Ravindra Gautam: It is a wonderful gesture to be honouring parents along with the students. They put in a lot for their children. I was not too good in academics but my parents have always been a driving force.’
The movie releases on 10 October (2014) under the banner of Nautanki Films.
