MUMBAI: In an exclusive interview, director Ishrat Khan opens up about the challenges and triumphs of working with a mixed cast of veteran and new-age actors in her latest film, Luv Ki Arrange Marriage, premiering on ZEE5 on June 14th.
1. Working with veteran actors alongside new-age actors can be challenging, at times. How was your experience managing this huge cast with a mix of veterans and new age actors?
Working with both veteran actors and new-age actors does present its challenges, but it was an enriching experience for me on the sets of Luv Ki Arrange Marriage. Creating an efficient schedule was essential to manage the diverse cast effectively. It was crucial to maintain harmony and synergy between both categories of actors, as it uplifts the essence of the film.
2.How did you approach portraying the single parent-child relationships in the film, and why did you feel it was important to include this dynamic?
While society often praises single parents and their children, we rarely get a chance to acknowledge the struggles and loneliness faced by the single parents themselves. Who truly understands their needs? Who empathizes with their solitude? Through our film, we've explored this angle, shedding light on the smiling faces that hide a multitude of sorrows and navigate life's challenges alone.
