MUMBAI: Time and again, we have seen several actresses experimenting with their roles. From playing the girl next door to a RAW agent and sometimes even blind artists, several Bollywood actresses have proven their acting prowess by showing a wide range in their films. Take a look at some of the actresses who played blind characters on screen.
Rani Mukerji: In the 2005 Hindi film Black directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan gave incredible performances and left a mark on viewers' minds. The film narrated the story of Michelle McNally (played by Rani Mukerji), a deaf-and-blind woman, and her relationship with her teacher Debraj Sahai (played by Big B), an elderly alcoholic teacher who himself later develops Alzheimer's disease.

Yami Gautam: In the 2017 film Kaabil directed by Sanjay Gupta, actors Hrithik Roshan (Rohan Bhatnagar) and Yami Gautam (Supriya Sharma) portrayed a blind couple who goes through a number of hardships together. Both Yami and Hrithik were applauded for their performances in the film.
Kajol: Fanaa, which features Kajol and Aamir Khan, was among the top hit films of 2006. In the Kunal Kohli directorial, Kajol played a blind Kashmiri woman, Zooni Ali Beg, who falls in love with a tourist guide in New Delhi named Rehaan Khan. Kajol and Aamir's unmissable chemistry in the film invited praises and compliments. Kajol even received a Filmfare award in the Best Actress category for the film.
