MUMBAI: Celebrated for his exceptional musical talent, singer-songwriter Armaan Malik has impressively become the first Indian artist to make his radio debut on Apple Music. His show ‘Only Just Begun’ featured musician Salim Merchant as the first guest, receiving a great response from fans worldwide. For the second episode, Armaan Malik is joined by English singer-songwriter Calum Scott, with whom he has collaborated for his new single ‘Always’.
An internationally acclaimed artist, Calum Scott is known for hits like ‘You Are the Reason’, ‘Dancing on My Own’, ‘At Your Worst’, and more. His latest song with Armaan Malik is a love ballad featuring vocals by the duo, accompanied by piano and orchestra.
Speaking of the radio show, Armaan Malik kicked off the heartfelt conversation with Calum Scott asking him about his experience in India and Mumbai. Calum shared, “It’s been incredible, a country I had never been to before. I have always wanted to come here and one thing I have learned about the audience here is how immediately receptive everybody is. It’s like I want to be a part of this, whether I’m screaming, waving or singing the lyrics, the fans just want to be involved. And I think that speaks volumes about India, the culture and the people.”
Further, the duo also spoke about their similar journeys as musicians, both starting on reality shows and considering themselves works in progress even today. Reflecting on the challenging times during his initial journey and balancing a day job, Calum Scott shared with Malik, “Being in that environment definitely prepared me for this industry. I’m so grateful for it because living my dreams and making a living from it is more than I could have ever asked for. For me, it was the stars aligning.”
