Ulajh REVIEW: Janhvi Kapoor shines bright in this political thriller

While the first half of the movie is slow paced, the second picks up on a strong note where once again Jahnvi Kapoor and this time Roshan Mathew are sure to keep the audience engaged.
Ulajh

MUMBAI: We have earlier watched a lot of spy movies and political movies which mostly show us the world of spies and how the army gets involved or connected but this time, director and writer Sudhanshu Saria along with co-writers Parveez Sheikh and Atika Chouhan have explored the never-seen-before world Indian Foreign Services.

The first half of the movie being a build-up of the story and the main characters, comes off being slow paced however, Gulshan Devaiah keeps us engaged and not to mention Janhvi Kapoor’s slightly naïve character with ultra-hot avatar will surely grab a lot of attention. While the first half of the movie is slow paced, the second picks up on a strong note where once again Jahnvi Kapoor and this time Roshan Mathew are sure to keep the audience engaged.

When talking about performances, Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, and Meiyang Chang become vital parts of the story and give really good performances and even amaze us at times. Meanwhile Rajesh Tailang and Rajendra Gupta also give important contributions. Adil Hussain’s power of convincing with his acting skills are sure to convey emotions and might also make you teary-eyed. Last but definitely not the least, Janhvi Kapoor has shown significant improvement with her previous but this time she has given her best and be it her looks, her body language, or her expressions, the actress has shown a great graph.

The movie looks appealing and engaging, thanks to various factors like the screenplay (Parveez Sheikh and Sudhanshu Saria), the oh-so-amazing BGM (Shashwat Sachdev), dialogues (Atika Chouhan) and performances. While the makers have focused well on the detailing of scenes, what makes the movie slight look slightly off is the predictable storyline where everything is happening too easily. With a scope of many high points, the movie surely gives you some of it and it makes sure that the audience leave excited with its intriguing climax.

All-in-all it is a decent political thriller that tries to pull us into the world of diplomats and spies with very good performances and great BGM but tries a little too hard with a predictable storyline.

Tellychakkar gives this movie 3/5 stars.
