The donors were Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Abhinav Bindra, Charles Correa, Amitav Ghosh, R K Laxman and Raghu Rai. Prominent among the donations was Ustad Amjad Ali Khan's iconic sarod. Later speaking to journalists Khan said that he was happy to have contributed for a social cause. The autographed sarod that went under the hammer fetched Rs 16 lakh. A memorable moment of the draw was when Akhtar bid for Laxman's piece-Hand Drawn Originals-'Six Decades of the Common Man'.
