MUMBAI: Sheena Chohan’s rise in cinema is not an overnight success story but one built on persistence, passion, and an unwavering commitment to her craft. Beginning with five years of intensive theatre training under Arvind Gaur, she developed the discipline and authenticity that would define her career.
With no godfather in the industry and raised by a single mother after losing her father young, Sheena carved her path with resilience. Her cinematic journey began with a South Indian debut opposite Mammootty, moved into Bengali cinema with Buddhadeb Dasgupta, and expanded into global independent films that earned her Best Actress nominations at international festivals and released on Netflix.
Her dedication eventually led her to work alongside legends like Kajol and Madhuri Dixit, and most recently, she played the lead in her Hindi Debut film, Sant Tukaram opposite Subodh Bhave — a role she approached with the same passion, commitment and intensity that has shaped her journey.
“ For me, every role is an opportunity to disappear into a new world of character while staying true to my craft and bringing the vision of my director alive. I’ve never measured success by shortcuts — it has always been about persistence, professionalism, and purpose ,” says Sheena.

Sheena is the South Asia Ambasador for United for Human Rights and the only actress to have won the Hero award at the UN for reaching 170 million with the message of human rights awareness.
