MUMBAI: Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra finally released in September this year, after years of shooting and production. The film, which also starred Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Shah Rukh Khan, was a major success nation-wide. It also did well at the box-office. Soon after the movie’s release, fans have already started speculating about Brahmastra 2.
One of the most speculated castings is of the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s (Shiva) father, Dev, in the sequel, and fans are very eager to find out. Many names have come up as to who the potential actors for the role of Dev could be. While many proposed that it could be Ranveer Singh, reports also said that Hrithik Roshan and KGF’s Yash, could be playing the role of Dev. Director Ayan Mukerji has finally reacted to the rumours after listening to everyone.

In a recent interview, Ayan Mukerji addressed the rumours of Yash, Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh being approached to essay the role of Dev. He said, “I love Yash. It would be great if he plays Dev. No, I am joking.” He further added, “There were rumours about Ranveer Singh, the biggest rumour, and other rumours about other actors but I cannot say anything. The fun of Dev’s story is that it will come at the right time.”
When further questioned about it, he said, “What if somebody is already playing Dev or is in talks… then you are asking me a question that can set the whole thing off. I really cannot answer this right now. Just wait for it, there is fun in waiting too.”
Earlier at an interaction post the release of Vikram Vedha, Hrithik Roshan responded to questions of him playing Dev and said, “What is happening? Nothing is happening. Next ‘Fighter’ will start and then there is potential for others to be made, (including) the ones you spoke of. Fingers crossed.”
Brahmastra will finally hit the OTT platform on November 4.
