MUMBAI: There have been reports about some well-known celebrities landing in trouble for plagiarism. Yes, sometimes even the most creative minds get embroiled in plagiarism controversies. While many refute the charges altogether and dismiss the claims, there are those who take on full responsibility for all that is done and show no qualms in admitting the same. Take a look at some celebrities who were accused of plagiarism and later issued apology statements.
Ekta Kapoor: The producer’s AltBalaji’s upcoming series His Storyy was accused of plagiarising the poster of celebrated filmmaker Sudhanshu Saria’s romantic drama, Loev (2015). The issue was brought to the attention of the makers who later issued a statement of apology. It read: “On the 9th of April, we released a poster of His Storyy and were made aware of the existence of Sudhanshu’s Loev poster. The uncanny resemblance and similarity cannot be written off as a mere coincidence. It has been an oversight on part of our design team. For this, we apologise. We respect the creativity of every designer and would never intentionally lift their work nor disregard their talent.”
Amitabh Bachchan: Amitabh Bachchan failed his fans and followers one day with one of his tweets. Amitabh, more often than not, posts shayarees, poems etc that he finds on his WhatsApp groups. In one of his tweets, he had shared a poem without crediting the poet. In the comment section, the poet going by the name Tisha Agarwal claimed that the words in the tweet are originally hers.
