When Sara Ali Khan revealed how a playful lie to her mother Amrita Singh was exposed by a journalist; ‘Ek baar maine apni mummy ko jhooth bola jo ki…’

MUMBAI: Sara Ali Khan celebrated her birthday and became one year older on August 12. She is among the most devoted actors of her generation. On social media, she got heartfelt birthday greetings from fans, relatives, and friends. Here's a great throwback to when Sara talked about how a journalist exposed her one lie to her mother, Amrita Singh, on her special day.

Sara Ali Khan revealed one of her mischievous actions when she appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show. The actress disclosed that she had once misled her mother, Amrita Singh, about her location, only to have a journalist expose her later on.

“Ek baar maine apni mummy ko jhooth bola jo ki nahi bolna chahiye (Once I lied to my mother, which one shouldn’t). You mustn’t lie. Maine mummy ko bola ki main padosi ke ghar hoon lekin main local train leke Elphinstone Road chali gayi (I told my mother that I was going to the neighbor’s house and took the local train to Elphinstone Road),” she said.

Sara winked and explained that she had gone to meet another familiarity when Kapil Sharma questioned her about why she had driven to Elphinstone Road. However, when Amrita questioned her where she had been the day before, she stuck to her version of events.

Sara revealed, “Actually unko kisi journalist ne phone kiya tha aur bola, ‘Amrita ji, aapne apni beti ko itni achchi tarah se bring up kiya, she uses local train…’ (some journalist called my mother up and complimented her on how well she brought me up, and how I was taking the local train),” she said.

Kapil continued questioning Sara about the last time she had misled Amrita about her location or activities. The enthusiastic actress admitted that she had done it numerous times, but the photos were never released.

Sara Ali Khan most recently starred in Murder Mubarak. Her upcoming film role is in Metro...in Dino with Aditya Roy Kapur.

The film was directed by Anurag Basu and stars Konkona Sensharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and other actors. The film Metro...In Dino, which is slated for release in 2024, is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu.
