MUMBAI: Maharaj is a biographical legal drama set in the 19th century, directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra under YRF Entertainment. While Junaid Khan made his acting debut with this movie, Jaideep Ahlawat and Shalini Pandey play key roles. Additionally, Munjya actress Sharvari also plays a cameo role. Netflix released Maharaj on June 21, 2024, after Gujarat HC lifted its stay on the film’s release.

Maharaj is based on the 1862 Maharaj libel case. The film’s story revolves around Karsandas Mulji, a journalist and social reformer who was a leading supporter of women’s rights and social change. This role was played by Junaid Khan. People are appreciating the movie, which is now rising at the top in India and creating waves on OTT. It has also been successful in maintaining its ranking in the top 10 in 22 more nations.
Today, the cast of the movie celebrated the success of the movie. At the event, Sharvari was asked about her experience working with Alia Bhatt for their upcoming YRF movie Alpha which will be a part of the spy universe.
To this, Sharwari said, “Honestly ever since I've wanted to be an actor I've manifested and dreamt of it every single night and I think that there is no pressure. I think I'm very happy to be where I am. I'm very grateful to be where I am, toh pressure bilkul nahi hai. And if course, Alia Bhatt is my favourite actor and to be able to work with her I think is an incredible opportunity. It's like being in a masterclass for acting and I get this opportunity so I'm using it to the best of my abilities because yeh mauka mujhe itna jaldi Mila hai in my career that I must use it, you know I can't let it go to waste.”
