YRF's casting executive Bhumi Pednekar all set to debut opposite Ayushmann Khurrana

YRF has a keen eye for spotting talent. After discovering Parineeti Chopra (Parineeti used to work with publicity and marketing team of Yashraj), India's premiere film production company is all set to give yet another in-house employee a break in one of its home productions. The lucky girl this time happens to be Bhumi Pednekar who till recently worked in the casting department of YRF. And the person who discovered her happens to be none other than Maneesh Sharma, the director who gave Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor their first break in this industry. Bhumi who was earlier handling the television casting of YRF, later became an associate in casting with Shanoo Sharma. On one occasion when her bosses asked her what she really wanted to do, Bhumi expressed her desire to direct a film or work under Shimit Amin as an assistant director. But deep inside her heart there was this throbbing desire to act. Says Maneesh, “Once, when she was in the midst of an audition, through the door which was slightly open I saw her conduct the audition and that is when I saw that she could act.” Call it fate or destiny, Bhumi was asked by YRF to do a mock test for actors who lived overseas so that they could send a link to these actors if they needed a brief! Bhumi mock played the role given to her and YRF simply loved her sincere acting. And the rest they say is history. Bhumi was immediately signed on by YRF to play the lead opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. Bhumi has now started working madly towards her acting goal and also started grooming herself. Let's wait and see if YRF has discovered yet another gem. After all, best discoveries are made by accident, they say.
