MUMBAI: Jim Sarbh and Zoya Hussain first appeared together on screen in Prateek Kuhad's Cold/Mess music video, which was published in 2018. A year later, the video for Into the Night was released. They quickly became friends, and rumors spread that the two started dating in early 2022. Additionally, a Reddit article claimed that they are very close together.
Now, in a conversation with the popular news portal, It's Zoya who ultimately speaks about these linked-up stories with Jim. “It’s personal. It’s my personal life. I’m not aware of what’s written about me, so I don’t know what to say. It’s true that Jim and I are very good friends. It’s also true that we’re very close,” she chuckles. She has revealed about him that, “He’s a very good cook.”

Although Zoya and Jim have never worked on a movie, they co-created the Crew Cut YouTube series earlier this year, which documents the work of professionals who work behind the scenes on film sets. In reality, Zoya's Instagram page is entirely focused on that and contains no information about her personal life—a rare occurrence for actors of her generation who are under constant stress to maintain their social media personas to secure greater roles and recognition.
Admitting to how her social media ‘has pretty much nothing’ in it, Zoya said, “I’m told once a week to up my social media game by many people. My family also tells me. But I’m just not tech savvy or social media savvy. I hear it constantly that numbers matter but what do I do? I can only take baby steps and trust me when I say it that I’m really trying, but it’s just not happening.”
The actor, who was recently seen in Manoj Bajpayee’s Bhaiyya Ji, confesses that keeping her Instagram updated with latest pictures ‘don’t come naturally’ to her. “I do have a bit of an aversion to it. I think I don’t have that natural wiring to just put out a selfie on Instagram. I don’t even click selfies. It’s wonderful for people who’re savvy and good with it because it really makes a difference to them,” she says.
Zoya stays away from the Bollywood party social scene as well. A lot of attention has recently been drawn to Karan Johar's discussions with Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao regarding how going to parties doesn't guarantee work opportunities.
Zoya expressed her stance on it, “I don’t know if you get work if you go to parties because I’m not a part of that world. I’ve never been to a Bollywood party unless those were launch, wrap or post-screening get-togethers.”
The actor adds, “It’s definitely nice to keep meeting people and stay connected. But quite honestly, I don’t know how much of that translates to work. Maybe it has for some people but it hasn’t for me. I believe, your work speaks for itself. I don’t think attending parties can replace having a successful film in your kitty or being known as a good performer.”
