ABCD 2 trailer impresses

ABCD 2

Get ready to watch the desi version of Step Up with Bollywood's A-list actors. ABCD 2, the sequel to the much acclaimed ABCD is ready to roll and if the trailer is anything to go by one can be rest assured that Disney (studio) has a winner on hands with this one.

Billed as India's first 3D dance film, the just released trailer is slick, fast paced and replete with athletic acrobatic rapidly paced dance moves which are primarily and only designed to thrill just like part one. The sequel has ace dance master Prabhudheva reprises his role of Vishnu and his team now has two fresh dancers - Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. The trailer shows Varun and Shraddha emerging as the prime donnas of his group and somewhere down the line Prabhu leaves his own troop post which Varun in all likelihood takes on the leadership mantle. 'Dance is to express not to impress someone,' says a charged up Varun in the trailer.

On the whole, ABCD 2 doesn't look any different from ABCD since the genres are essentially the same. Varun however lends the film more brand value and going by his dancing skills this one should take him to a new level both as a dancer and actor. The actor shows off his well-toned bare torso in a significant number of scenes and doing his signature pelvic thrusts with extra focus on his washboard abs (do we already see women going weak in their knees). Shraddha looks beautiful as always. It remains to be seen if she can match the dance skills of Varun and other dancers as the trailer doesn't really show her grooving much.

Adding more impetus this time is the exotic Las Vegas where a major part of the movie has been shot. The Varun-Shraddha pairing will infuse great novelty and the songs too look melodious as well as visually appealing. Director Remo D'Souza has done well to pack enough acting in the neatly trimmed trailer to keep all dance aficionados interested in ABCD 2. Add to that the 3D drama, we are sure viewers will go back home dancing.
