Kaabil trailer: Ultimate revenge drama

Trailer review Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaabil
Kaabil

When your beloved is brutally violated, you will take avenge. Even if you’re blind since birth. Because you mean business. That’s exactly what Hrithik Roshan aka Rohan Bhatnaga is all about. He may be visually-challenged, but he sure knows how to live it up.

His sweet encounter with Yami Gautam, who’s also visually-impaired, their love, marriage, and everyday moments make the first half a happy and lively one. The blind pair even indulges in salsa, goes on amusement rides, and is generally living an ideal life. But a tragedy turns their lives upside down when Yami’s brutally violated by antagonists played by Ronit and Rohit Roy.

Devoid of any colour, the second half of the trailer is purely a revenge saga where Hrithik will destroy those who toppled his perfect life. The stark contrast between the first and second half sets the trailer apart as it clearly establishes the before and after.

Take a bow, Sanjay Gupta!

Coming to the main stuff, as usual, Hrithik is powerful, brilliant, and smashing in his role. He’s ably supported by Yami, who’s playing a lingering memory for the third time as she was the victim in both Badlapur and Action Jackson. We hope she doesn’t get typecast…The Roy brothers are menacing and mysterious, with evil eyes and crazy smiles.

The background score changes from fast and fun to fast and ferocious, which itself sets the pace for the plot. The crux is right in the open, yet you want to watch how the whole things unfold on the big screen. The dialogues are powerful too. When Hrithik says, "Khatam hum karenge...", you know that you've walked into one of the most intense revenge dramas of this decade.

Directed by Sanjay Gupta and produced by Rakesh Roshan, the movie is set to hit the screens on 26 January, 2017.
