This year the wedding mania hit Bollywood denizens like never before with many of them getting married in a huff and hush-hush manner. While on one hand there were the usual secret Bollywood weddings, on the other, there was Arpita Khan weds Aayush Sharma which went on to become the mother of all Bollywood weddings. We take a look at the ones who got hitched this year in Bollywood. Arpita Khan & Aayush Sharma This was 'The wedding of Bollywood' in 2014. Salman Khan booked Hyderabad's famous Falaknuma palace for his little sister's wedding that cost him a cool 1 crore per day. No efforts were spared in making the wedding uber luxurious and all those who mattered in the country flew down to Hyderabad for the palace wedding on November 18th. A couple of days later, the festivities continued at the mega-reception thrown at a five-star in Mumbai where SRK made a splash by meeting and greeting the newlyweds and dancing the night away with Sallu Bhai and family. Post Arpita's wedding, every girl in India wishes to have a brother like Salman. Rani Mukerji & Aditya Chopra What could have been the biggest wedding in Bollywood turned out to be a rather secretive affair. Rani Mukerji shocked the world by secretly tying the marital knot with her long time beau, YRF's boss Aditya Chopra somewhere in Italy on April 21 in the presence of only extremely close group of family relatives and friends. A pundit was flown in from India to complete the rituals. And since the groom was Aditya Chopra no pictures from the wedding has been made public yet. The newlyweds reportedly threw a small reception for industry colleagues at their residence later on. Rani returned to work as YRF's new madam-in-charge. John Abraham & Priya Runchal It was a given that John and Bipasha would marry until Priya Runchal happened in John's life. Bipasha was out and things moved pretty fast for John and Priya. After a whirlwind romance, the duo got hitched, secretively again. John broke the news on Twitter on January 2nd by posting, '“Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed 2014! May this year bring you love, good fortune and joy. Love, John and Priya Abraham". Smart move, Johnnie boy! Dia Mirza & Sahil Sangha October 18th is the day when Dia Mirza finally married her long-time boyfriend, Sahil Sangha. The duo dated each other for a good five years before Sahil finally went down on his knees and proposed Dia in filmy style in New York. Dia being from Hyderabad wanted to get married in Falaknuma palace but the cost was a bit too much for her to afford. The couple finally settled for Delhi as the venue. Vir Das & Shivani Mathur Standup comedian turned actor Vir Das did an Aditya Chopra by disappearing to Sri Lanka and getting married discreetly to his girlfriend, Shivani Mathur. Vir wanted to keep it so private that he even banned guests from carrying their cell phones at the wedding. But Vir compensated for the same by arranging a bar right in the middle of a pool, water slides, mechanical rodeo bulls and two rock bands. Really unique planning, we have to say. Pulkit Samrat- Shweta Rohira Salman's blue eyed boy, Pulkit Samrat married Salman's rakhi sister, Shweta Rohira at a lavish destination wedding in Goa on 3rd November. Salman did the kanyadaan and all B-town bigwigs made a beeline to attend the ceremony. A grand reception was later held at a suburban five-star. Nikitin Dheer- Kratika Sengar Chennai Express lad Nikitin Dheer and television actress, Kratika Sengar of Jhansi Ki Rani fame met and fell head-over-heels in love with each other. Nikitin's father, Pankaj who had first met Kratika instantly approved his son's choice. The marriage took place on 4th September and among the many bigwigs who attended the wedding also happened to be director Rohit Shetty. Aftab Shivdasani & Nin Dusanj Aftab had his share of relationships before Nin happened in his life. The couple dated for two years and Aftab never kept things secret unlike other actors. The duo got married in a hush-hush ceremony and Kabir Bedi did the needful by tweeting about their marriage thereby disclosing it to the world. Arijit Singh & Koel Roy India's latest singing heartthrob got married to his long-time sweetheart Koel Roy on January 20. The marriage was yet again kept a secret and neither of them made any official announcement about the same. It's the second marriage for both Arijit and Koel. Arijit was earlier married to one of his co-contestants from a reality show he participated long time back. Sameera Reddy & Akshai Varde Actress Sameera Reddy married her entrepreneur boyfriend Akshai Varde in a simple Maharashtrian wedding attended by close family friends and relatives. Akshay who is known for manufacturing custom made motorbikes entered the venue on one of his favourite mean machine. Rannvijay Singh & Prianka Vohra VJ turned actor Rannvijay Singh got hitched to his London-based Prianka Vohra, in Kenya in a traditional Sikh wedding on April 10. Rannvijay himself announced it on Twitter. His wedding was showcased on YouTube through a webshow called Hitched.
